Oh! And I figured out how to use this uh.. radio, phone, walkie talkie-whatever you want to call it already. It's pretty primitive compaired to what I'm used to, but I'll set up an entry for messages in case any of you wanna chat with me in the future. I don't really know anybody right now, but it'll make itself useful at some point, right? At least I have a form of chat here at all.. You know, as primitive as it is, Sumomo can't really hack into it? Or connect to the network to transfer my messages? That's weird.

Uh, on a more serious note.. I have a question. I'm not sure how it works when you get dropped in this city- if it's the people around you, anything in contact with you, or just you and whatever's on you. I was close by somebody important to me, and then I was here.

It's kind of on par with some of the technology where I'm from, though. Well, like, the technology for public consumption, although I still prefer my own phone. Which I don't have.
I have a cell phone too, and it's a lot better than this thing, but it isn't working here. I usually have my phone calls and voice chats go through my laptop though, since she's always with me. It's a lot more fun that way.
So how long have you been here?
Ha. That's kinda impressive. From what I've heard, your technology is way ahead of mine. For me, that kind of thing would be far too much hassle. I just messed with mine so I could make free calls. So useful.

Me personally, or people in general? In general, it seems like people spend their time complaining about a multitude of things, from the mundane to otherwise.

Thanks a lot. Hopefully I'll find out she just isn't here and save myself a lot of grief. Not that that would be such great news either, but it would be better for her anyway..
That's a refreshing attitude to have.
I mean- Sumomo isn't a person. She's my laptop. But.. there's another Persocom here and she seems to be here alone. That means these people thought of her as a person. So.. I thought I just.. kind of doomed Takako and anyone standing near me.

It hurts already thoughIt seems to be 'luck' who is brought here and who isn't. There are people here who have many of friends, and others who have none. It's difficult, but it's probably for the best.

You mean you- Oh. Uh, a Persocom is just a computer, but it's shaped like a human. Makes things more convenient. They make good company to some people. If they can remember that they aren't real, otherwise they get obsessed. Escorts. Running errands. Phone calls. Carry the groceries.. So you get all the power of a full sized computer, but it can come with you, helps you out, and takes voice commands.
